Kuwait Airways Announces Special Flights for Residents Returning via Saudi Arabia

Kuwait City – March 7, 2026: Kuwait Airways has announced the operation of special flights from several international destinations to assist residents and citizens wishing to return to Kuwait through the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to the national carrier, travelers will be able to fly to designated cities and then continue their journey to Kuwait by land through Saudi Arabia, provided they obtain a Saudi transit visa.

The airline confirmed that the flights will operate from major global destinations including Barcelona, Milan, Paris, Munich and Bangkok.

Flights Available for Existing and New Bookings

Kuwait Airways stated that the flights will be available for passengers who already have confirmed bookings as well as for those who plan to purchase new tickets.

The move comes as part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of Kuwaiti citizens and residents who are currently abroad.

Special Flight Schedule Announced

The airline has also arranged special operations for passengers traveling from Asia.

A special flight from Manila to Dammam via Bangkok has been scheduled to assist travelers heading back to Kuwait.
Flight KU418D will depart Manila at 10:00 PM (local time), arrive in Bangkok at 12:30 AM, and then depart Bangkok at 2:30 AM before landing in Dammam at 6:30 AM.

From Dammam, passengers will be able to continue their journey to Kuwait by land.

Additional Flights from Europe

Kuwait Airways also announced another special flight from Barcelona to Dammam, scheduled to depart at 10:00 AM (Barcelona time) under flight number KU136D.

Officials said these flights are part of a coordinated effort with relevant authorities to ensure the safe and organized return of travelers.

Thousands Request Return to Kuwait

According to Kuwait Airways Chairman Abdulmohsen Al-Faqaan, the airline has received around 2,000 requests from citizens and residents seeking assistance to return to Kuwait.

Reports indicate that nearly 1,200 passengers stranded in transit have already traveled by land to Saudi airports to continue their journey home.

Gradual Repatriation Plan

Kuwait Airways spokesperson Abdullah Al-Shatti said the airline has mobilized its operational resources to support the return process.

He added that the repatriation plan will be implemented gradually according to an operational schedule to accommodate the largest possible number of passengers while complying with all travel regulations.

The airline also thanked Saudi authorities for their cooperation in facilitating flight operations through airports across the Kingdom.
